Theatre of War
Anti war protest theatre at the Strawberry Fair, Cambridge, Summer 2004.
Theatre of War, quoting from their website, are a group of social activists fighting for social justice. They use big puppets, costumes and other eye catching props in their protests.
10x10
10x10 is a wonderful site. It automatically scans the news feeds from the BBC, Reuters and the New York Times and from them gathers the 100 most 'important' news photographs and then displays them all together. You get a visual snapshot of whats dominating the news.

Geisha on Stilts
Geisha on Stilts, Strawberry Fair, Cambridge, Summer 2004.
Such a pity that there is that blurred head blocking the arm of the right hand geisha.

My new camera ....
... is a twelve quid Holga. Now don't go thinking I've managed to get a great bargain on some nice second hand, old but good, classic camera. This is 12 quid for a brand new medium format camera.
Now what do you think that says about the build quality? Is almost completely made out of plastic. Even the lens. There are two aperature setting - sunny and cloudy. But in reality there is only one actual aperature.
The theory is that the optics are so bad that you can get really interesting arty shots with it. Of course you have no way of knowing when you buy it your particular camera is going to be bad in a good way or just bad. Time will tell.
Meanwhile here are some sites showing just how good a 12 quid camera can be:
Toy Camera
Holga deKiss
Holgasmers
Lomography
