Baby Led Weaning

We started baby led weaning in earnest yesterday. To be honest Stephanie has been nibbling on things for a while now - lettuce, green bean, red pepper, toast, pitta bread and the Baby Led Weaning book. But yesterday we sat her down in a high chair, put some food on the tray and let her at it.

And she had a great time. It was a bit tricky picking up the carrot but the broccoli and the pitta bread where a dawdle.

Alex thought she would help and so she did.

Broccoli was remarkable for the noise that Stephanie makes as she attempts to eat the florets using suction alone.

Feeling the Pinch

Stephanie is learning how to grip. One of the things she likes to grip while you are carrying her is your arm. She has a very strong grip and very sharp finger nails. Just in time for the weather to turn warm and for short sleeves to be popular. Ouch.

Bathroom fittings

So, we're looking at doing up the downstairs bathroom. Perhaps something tasteful like these would brighten it up.

Sunny

I have looked at the weather forecast and it is Sunny, Sunny, Sunny, Sunny and now so am I.

Stephanie on the other hand is a bit grouchier than usual. I did wonder why for a while. I have decided that it because Alex isn't well. And Alex lying on the couch looking ill just isn't that interesting to Stephanie. Normally the constant whirl that is Alex keeps her laughing.

Wet

I guess the fact that there was a wee accident that caused me to throw out soft furnishings means that I can stop worrying if ill girl is sufficiently hydrated.

Too far to walk

We went to the zoo while Mum was over. I did take pictures of the animals as well but they aren't very good and if you really needed a picture of a zebra I'm sure you could find a thousand on flickr.

Lego

Alex built this with a bit of help from Dad. The thing fell apart a couple of times. This was the first time I've seen Alex deal with that calmly.

Can you guess what it is? It is a guitar holder. With wheels for when you want to move your guitar but don't want to have to carry it yourself.

Alex Sings

Ian put new batteries in Alex's keyboard.

There are, as always, more photos.

Jumperoo

We have bought Stephanie one of these things to sit in while Alex and I are doing art or while we're busy in the kitchen. It is too big, too insanely colourful and busy and too expensive. Stephanie loves it. All else is irrelevant.

A Field of Light Sabers

Pretty if a little worrying for anyone living near a power line.

Don't Take it Lying Down

I think the time has come to change the buggy
configuration from one seat and a carry cot to two seats. That Stephanie one just keeps growing.

Baby Led Weaning

Stephanie is five months old now and the time for weaning draws near. I have been reading a book about baby led weaning (Baby-led Weaning).

Apparently one of the disadvantages of BLWing is the mess. Surely it can't be as bad as the purées. Well, not as bad as the popeye pasta anyway.
