Building a Tree

Today in the Botanic Gardens Alex decided to build a tree. We found a hollow tree stump near a little stream and filled it with all the things that trees have - leaves, twigs, bark, feathers(!), water and seeds. Then we stood back and waited. Sadly the tree didn't grow much while we were there. Alex's plan was for the tree to grow so she could use the branches to swing across the stream. Perhaps the next time we're there the tree will have grown.

Things Stephanie Wants to Do ...

... But Can't

Stand up on her own.
Feed herself with a spoon.
Every single thing that Alex does.

Holiday

We are back from our holiday in Cornwall. Such a lovely time. Incredibly good weather. The only flaw in the cunning plan was that there was rather a lot of driving and Stephanie is not as good a traveller as Alex was. The travelling wasn't all that bad though and the girls did sleep for quite a lot of it.

Of course the down side of hours of sleeping in the car is the absence of baby sleep at night. Here is a quick snap I took while walking round the village of Bridgerule trying to get Stephanie to go to sleep.

A Day At the Beach

Yes, Stephanie is about to eat that stone.

Stephanie enjoys splashing herself in the pools.

Alex's new wet suit.

Alex is building a castle. The big standing stone is the king and the smaller stone next to it is a princess.

Crawling

Stephanie can get around. She can move pretty quickly. She does not crawl.

Taken With My New Birthday Present

Ian gave me a new camera for my birthday. A little camera that fits into my handbag. Into all of my handbags. I already had a camera that fits into handbags. They just had to be really, really spacious.
